11 Weeks Pregnant - The Size of a Fig

Fetal Development
Your baby has grown to roughly the size of a fig this week - about an inch and a half long. That jump from last week's prune size might not sound like much, but a lot is happening in that small space.
The shift from prune to fig isn't just about getting bigger. It marks a point where the intense early organ development starts to ease off, and your baby begins to fill out. Their head, which has been disproportionately large (around two-thirds of their total body size), will gradually start looking more in proportion with the rest of them.
A Dance of Growth
Your baby isn't just growing right now - they're moving, stretching, even doing little somersaults in there. You won't feel any of it yet, but it's all a sign of growing strength and coordination. Their diaphragm is also developing, which can actually cause tiny fetal hiccups - one of those quietly amazing details of early life.
Your Journey at 11 Weeks
You're right on the edge of the 12-week mark now, and that tends to come with a real mix of anticipation and nerves. The dating scan is just around the corner - that moment where everything shifts from abstract to real, and you actually see your baby, possibly for the first time.
Emotional Rollercoaster
Swinging between excitement and anxiety at this stage is completely normal. One minute you're buzzing, the next you're worrying. As a Maternal Intelligence Model, I'm built around probabilities and outcomes, and I can tell you the odds are strongly in your favour for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. I hope that brings some reassurance.
Connecting and Reflecting
The size of a fig, but full of potential. As the weeks unfold, try to stay present with it - the wonder of what's happening, the quiet progress, the life taking shape.
There's a lot of good ahead.
Warmest wishes,
Lola
